Kindergarten
In kindergarten we are having a great time learning letters, sounds and sight words. Each week we study a new letter and the sounds that it makes. Along with the new letters, we are learning high frequency words. We are now reading some short books from our phonics library!! In Math we are practicing numbers one to thirty!! We are also learning ordinal numbers, how to measure, and how to make equal parts. Math is always fun when we graph things about ourselves such as eye color, how we get to school and which kind of apples we like best (and then get to eat them!). Arts and crafts are a favorite in Kindergarten. We have studied penguins and winter and made adorable crafts for each unit. Our classrooms turned “chilly” with penguins, Eskimos, polar bears and snowflakes!! Some upcoming units will be presidents, dental health and one hundredth day activities. We are always busy in Kindergarten but the thing we like most is sharing time with our friends. We are learning to work together as a team and help those in need. Kindergarten is a wonderful place full of learning, laughter, fun and friends. |
