Brief Description of Class:
Economics is the study of how individuals and nations choose to allocate
scarce resources to satisfy unlimited human wants. This course is
designed to give students an understanding of the principles of
economics that apply to the functions of individual decision-makers,
both consumers and producers, within the larger economic system.
Fundamental economic concepts, such as supply and demand, will be used
to analyze a market economy. A central focus of the course is how to
reason carefully about economic activity.
