Results of KRC's 25th Annual
Ride & Park

Just eleven seconds separated the 1st and 2nd place teams, after over
an hour of running and biking three 3.89 mile loops around Kwajalein
Island's Airfield.
Ben Bartyzel of ALTAIR and Jon Jahnke of Kwajalein Jr-Sr High School
finished 1st with a team time of 1-hour and 4-minutes even.
Thomas Cardillo and Stephanie Los (both of KRS Mission Ops) were 2nd
in 1-hour, 4-minutes and 11-seconds.
Thomas and Stephanie managed to finish nearly simultaneously, despite
Stephanie being on foot and Thomas screaming up behind her on "their"
bike.
Ten other teams fleshed out the field, including the husband-wife
teams of Brent & Krystal Peterson and Eric & Candace Everts. The bikes
were colorful and varied: skinny wheeled racing bikes, touring
10-speeds, mountain bikes and even some fat tired "Kwaj" bikes.
Some KRC events are grueling and some are novelties; "Ride and Park"
is both!
The twelve teams were the best turn out for this event since in the
early 1990s.
