paintings by world renown artists. Includes an artist index, a themes index
and a glossary.
- National Gallery of Art One of the most
prominent art galleries in North America. Many works can be viewed, and the
database is searchable by artist, title or other criteria. It also offers
virtual tours by medium or school, and special exhibitions.

An incredible collection of art images from the San Francisco Fine Arts
Museum searchable by artist, country or period. Please do not reprint without

- Art Institute of Chicago Web site from
the Art Institute has information on exhibits, collections and much

- Metropolitan
Museum of Art Online Collections This web site contains 3,500 images,
including the entire collection of European paintings. search by artist,
period, style or keyword, or take one of the tours. Includes timelines, and

gateway list to art museums, virtual galleries, artists, and special art
topics, as well as teacher resources, from the Franklin Institute Online.
- Art History Art
History links by period, by country, and also lists of museums by country,
make this a very useful site, maintained by art history professor Chris
Witcombe at Sweet Briar College.

Provides information on art history, archaeology and architecture and focuses

- ArtsEdNet Getty Institute
Art Education Web site offers an extensive web site providing student and
teacher resources, its own image gallery, and web links to more art resources.

- Artcyclopedia A "Fine Arts
Search Engine" which provides a database of more than 7500+ great artists
searchable by movement, medium, subject, nationality, or name. Also provides

site from How StuffWorks that explains the basic functions of a camera. It
defines technical terms and uses clear graphics to explain lenses, focus,
image size, homemade cameras, and how film works.

of Kodak The Kodak website provides an in-depth history of the company and
biographical information on George Eastman. A timeline of events, explanations
