Ancient, Medieval, and Modern Comprehensive chronology of more than 20,000

Humanities.

Online Excellent web site covers world history with a combination of text

- Rome Information

- Cybrary of the Holocaust Includes

Simon Wiesenthal Center Online museum with a multimedia learning center

great site for biographical sketches and other information on famous and some

- Women of Our Time A site
from the Smithsonian Institution that offers an interactive gallery and

- Black History:
Exploring African American Issues on the Web This black history site
explores African-American issues on the WEB through a full range of
activities.
- Africans in America: America's
Journey Through Slavery This is a companion web site to the PBS series of
the same title, and contains multiple resources with four major narratives and
a "resource bank" with extensive listings of people and events, historical
documents, and conversations with experts and scholars.
- Archiving Early America Primary
sources for the revolutionary period, including newspaper articles as well as
important political documents.

Century Resources Good site for culture and science of the 18th

- American Civil War Home
Page This site offers a large collection of links on all aspects of the
Civil War, including timelines, letters, diaries, battle information, and

- United States Civil War Center From
Louisiana State University, this is an extensive collection of civil War
information and resources that "promote the study of the Civil War from the
perspectives of all professions, occupations, and academic disciplines."
Impressive links to all subject areas from abolition and architecture to war
statistics and weapons.
- Aboard the
Undergound Railroad This site from the National Park Service documents
historic posts where slaves found shelter along the Underground Railroad. Also
provides links to biographies, the slave trade, early anti-slavery, operation
of the UGRR, and the Civil War.
- Documenting the American
South: North American Slave Narratives An e-text collection from the
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Libraries presents "the narratives
of fugitive and former slaves published in broadsides, pamphlets, or book form

- History of Jim Crow
Funded by New York Life, this site offers resources that explore segregation
from the 1870s through the 1950s, including sections on television, history,

- Lewis & Clark: A Journey of
the Corps of Discovery This comprehensive and informative web site
complements the Ken Burns produced PBS special of the same name. Includes

- Lewis
& Clark's Journey of Discovery This web resource provides map overlays

- Creative American
Portraits by Carl Van Vechten, 1932-1964 Browse a collection of

Features many photographs from African American history and the Harlem

- Vietnam: Echoes of
War CNN's In-Depth 25th anniversary special on the Vietnam War explains

- Vietnam: A
Television History From PBS' American Experience, this site presents
biographies on the key figures involved in Vietnam and provides a timeline of
events, weapons used and information about MIA status of prisoners, plus

- Battlefield: Vietnam
PBS's site describing the Vietnam conflict's battle history from 1954 to 1975,

- The White House Information on
the White House and its occupants both past and present, plus the latest
information on the President's agenda and focus. This site also provides easy
access to current Federal social statistics and information produced by
Federal agencies.

Experience: the Presidents Information on 20th century American Presidents
and their times, policies and their presidential record.
- The American
Presidency: A Glorious Burden Straight from the Smithsonian's national
Museum of American History, this site provides information about each of the
commanders-in-chief and connects to some of the relics of those who held the
office.
- National Portrait Gallery: Hall

- LII: Supreme Court
Collection Contains all Supreme Court opinions issued since May 1990 and a

- FedWorld/Flite Supreme Court
Decisions Searchable by case name or keyword search full-text of every
decision, plus references to other Supreme Court decision sites.
- U.S. Supreme Court + Database
Project devoted to making the 6,700 opinions of the US Supreme Court
available. Includes historic archives as well as current cases.

- Bureau of the Census Provides data

1790-1860 This is a searchable database of historical, social, economic,
