Information for Prospective and New Staff

The Sponsor’s role is to assist new hires as they make the transition to island life by:

• Contacting the new hire prior to arrival
• Answering any questions they have
• Welcoming the new teacher to the island
• Preparing their living quarters for arrival

The Mentor’s role is to:

• Be a resource of information for the new teacher
• Meet twice a month with the new teacher to discuss “Talking Points” - topics of importance in the KSS
• Act as a friend and colleague
